The Microsoft .NET Framework is a
software framework available with
several Microsoft Windows operating
systems. It includes a large library
of coded solutions to prevent common
programming problems and a virtual
machine that manages the execution
of programs written specifically for
the framework. The .NET Framework is
a key Microsoft offering and is
intended to be used by most new
applications created for the Windows
platform.
ASP.NET is a web application
framework developed and marketed by
Microsoft to allow programmers to
build dynamic web sites, web
applications and web services. It
was first released in January 2002
with version 1.0 of the .NET
Framework, and is the successor to
Microsoft's Active Server Pages
(ASP) technology. ASP.NET is built
on the Common Language Runtime (CLR),
allowing programmers to write
ASP.NET code using any supported
.NET language.
Crystal Reports for Visual Studio
.NET software provides developers
with a fast and productive way to
create and integrate
presentation-quality reports into
applications, without leaving the
familiar Visual Studio development
environment. It also enables them to
easily create interactive reports
for enterprise, Web, and smart
client applications that scale to
meet the demands of end users.
